The Drought of 2012
This has been an unusual year in Central Illinois and across the Midwest. An early spring and ideal soil conditions allowed us to get the crops planted and off to a great start. We were anticipating record yields. Then it quit raining. And we had record heat. Day by day the prospects of even normal yields deteriorated. Following are photographs of the effects of the drought of 2012 in Central Illinois.
