Based on what a visitor to the garden will experience from a distance, at the entrance and within the garden itself there are elements of design to consider. Three basic concepts are effectively used as building blocks to create visual interest and an overall desirable effect that appeals to the senses.

Form defines the garden space from afar and draws the visitor to experience more. Line emphasizes the form and provides a visual path directing and inviting the visitor to enter. Dimension is created within the garden through the use of texture, color and aroma, generating sensory stimulation. |
