Joe Peterson manages farms in Illinois, Kansas
and Colorado, handling diverse crop production and leasing arrangements – cash
rent, crop-share and custom crop-share. Joe
stays abreast in professional farm management through continuing education and
experience, focusing on key issues in respective management regions.
The success of the Kansas and Colorado properties
are highly dependent upon water management.
Through his experiences with these properties, Joe is knowledgeable about
irrigation techniques and methods and has developed management plans intended to
conserve water. Joe has additional
studies on Section 1031 exchanges, alternative land uses and pest management.
Joe Peterson is a leader in agricultural
computerization in both field production and recordkeeping – Precision
Agriculture. A fourth-generation
Illinois grain farmer, Joe is a producer, a farmland owner and a tenant farmer
working with written and oral leases. Joe
has been in business and presently farms and maintains his Illinois Pesticide
Private Applicator license.
As a life-long resident of DeWitt County,
Illinois, Joe graduated from Clinton Community High School.
He was a member of the local Chapter FFA and was elected to the office of
Chapter Secretary-Treasurer his senior year.
Joe has also taken courses at Richland Community College, Decatur,
Illinois, including commodity marketing, futures trading and computerization.
